The "HG (High Grade)" robot plastic model series, released by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. of Japan, has announced its latest product from "Super Robot Wars OG," the "Ashsaber," is scheduled for release in June 2025.
First appearing in "Super Robot Wars A," the ASK-AD02 Ashsaber is one of the real robot protagonist units players can initially choose. Although its HP, armor, and maximum attack power are the lowest among the five protagonist units, its extremely high mobility provides excellent evasion performance. It is also equipped with a jammer that nullifies missiles and an anti-beam coating that reduces beam damage. Its strongest weapon, the "Breaker Sword," is a cool armament reminiscent of the funnels from the Gundam series, possessing powerful characteristics such as being able to attack after moving, a long range of 2-6, and being immune to being shot down.
Although the prototype of the "HG Ashsaber" under development was exhibited at the "62nd All Japan Model & Hobby Show" held this October, product introduction images using CG from the development stage are still pending on the official website. First, the unit's most distinctive and strongest weapon, the "Breaker Sword," can separate from both shoulders and deploy its tip to recreate its firing state. Coupled with the included dedicated display stand, it can recreate firing scenes. The handheld "Giga Blaster" can deploy its barrel to recreate its firing state. The "Flame Dagger Missile" concealed in the chest can use replacement parts to recreate its warhead deployment state. Additionally, a rich array of armaments such as the "Laser Sword" and "Rapier Machine Gun" are included for interchangeable equipment!
