TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., today officially announced the release of a heavyweight new product from the "ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E." series, the "Big-Zam," from "Mobile Suit Gundam," scheduled for May 2025.
The MA-08 Big-Zam was originally a fortress-assault Mobile Armor developed by the Principality of Zeon to capture Jaburo Base, later piloted by Vice Admiral Dozle Zabi to defend Solomon to the death. The unit possesses overwhelming offensive and defensive capabilities, not only equipped with an "I-Field Generator" to repel medium to long-range beam weapons, but also featuring 28 MEGA Particle Cannons for all-directional attacks. The largest cannon in the center of the unit can even sink a battleship in a single shot. However, this comes with enormous power consumption, allowing it to operate for only 20 minutes in space.
The "Big-Zam ver. A.N.I.M.E." is the largest product in the history of the ROBOT SPIRITS series, boasting an impressive height of approximately 46 cm. It meticulously recreates the design proportions from the anime setting materials, with high-density lines, thruster nozzles, cannon muzzles, and other rich details sculpted into its exterior armor. Its massive body houses extensive LED lighting mechanisms, capable of illuminating the mono-eye camera, the large MEGA Particle Cannon in the center of the fuselage, and the 26 MEGA Particle Cannons on both sides. Furthermore, a small projector is installed on the back, capable of projecting two types of "Dozle's Grudge" backgrounds from both the TV and theatrical versions!
The unit's head features a cockpit hatch deployment mechanism, revealing the internal cockpit and pilot figure. It also includes a proportionally scaled "Dozle Zabi" figure, allowing for the recreation of the famous scene where he fires at the Gundam with his bare hands in the final battle. To support its massive body and allow it to stand independently, the giant legs feature reinforced spring structures in the knee joints, enabling excellent high-kneeling poses. Additionally, the soles of the feet can recreate the appearance of anti-air missiles being launched.
