The robot-themed action figure series "ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam", the "Core Booster Battle of Solomon Color", scheduled for release in May 2025.
The FF-X7-Bst Core Booster first appeared in the re-edited theatrical trilogy of "Mobile Suit Gundam", holding a status equivalent to the "G-Fighter" that appeared in the TV series. Unlike the G-Fighter, which featured multiple separation and combination forms for toy releases, the Core Booster is simply a flight unit that combines the Core Fighter with a large booster. It utilizes both thermonuclear jet and rocket propulsion engines, allowing it to be used both within and outside the atmosphere. It is equipped with high-firepower armaments such as machine guns, missiles, and Mega Particle Cannons, enabling it to perform effectively in air-to-air, anti-MS attack/support, and anti-submarine attacks.
To coincide with the commercialization of the massive MA "Big-Zam" used by the Principality of Zeon forces in the Battle of Solomon, the ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E. series is re-releasing the "Core Booster Unit 5", which performed a special attack against it in the show, piloted by Federation Lieutenant Sleggar Law. The unit's color scheme has been changed to a deeper Battle of Solomon color.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS Core Booster ver. A.N.I.M.E. Battle of Solomon Color" product includes the "Core Booster Unit 5" main body, a clear display stand, landing gear parts, and a set of effect parts. The Core Booster's cockpit features an opening mechanism, and a miniature Sleggar figure is included inside. By replacing parts, the deployed state of multiple landing gear sets on the underside can be reproduced. The effect parts can recreate the jet propulsion effect of the rear thrusters, the firing effects of the two Mega Particle Cannons, and the multi-warhead missiles on the underside of the fuselage, allowing for more immersive battle scenes.
