Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who stars in the upcoming Christmas action-comedy "Red One," recently revealed in an interview that he finally caught the epic masterpiece. Johnson specifically chose to watch the film in the same IMAX theater as director Christopher Nolan, stating he was profoundly impressed by Nolan's use of IMAX technology and expressed a desire to incorporate similar techniques into his own film, "Red One."
"I went and saw 'Oppenheimer,' and I just gotta tell you, it was incredible!" Johnson exclaimed. "I thought, 'Holy shit! If 'Red One' could utilize this kind of technology, playing on a screen like that, it would be a truly breathtaking experience!' I sent a shirtless photo of myself, along with a picture of the 'Oppenheimer' screen, to director Jake Kasdan. In that moment, I just thought about how cool it would be if our movie could achieve that same effect."
Despite Johnson's high hopes, "Red One" did not ultimately become an IMAX big-screen spectacle like "Oppenheimer." The Christmas comedy-action film, which reportedly cost $250 million to produce, only managed to pull in $26 million globally during its opening week, with most critical reviews leaning negative.
