After half a year of previews at major comic conventions, JADA TOYS, the US toy manufacturer known for its various 6-inch Street Fighter action figures released over the past two years, has finally officially announced the sales information for its highly anticipated "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" themed products: 1/12 scale action figures of David Martinez and Lucy! These figures are priced at $44.99 and $29.99 respectively, with an estimated release in February 2025.
"Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" is an anime spin-off produced by Studio TRIGGER for CD Projekt's game "Cyberpunk 2077." It tells the story of David Martinez, a poor protagonist who, after his mother's death, is taken in by a crew of Edgerunners led by Maine, as he tries to survive in a world of hyper-advanced technology. Ever since "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" hit streaming platforms, I've been eagerly awaiting action figures from various manufacturers, and it's a pleasant surprise to see JADA TOYS leading the charge!
The David Martinez figure captures his appearance after Maine's passing, when he took leadership of the Edgerunner crew. The sculpt accurately reproduces his muscular, cybernetically enhanced physique and the Sandevistan implant on his back. Cybernetic joint lines are intricately detailed through sculpted panel lines. His clothing is made from real fabric, balancing accurate aesthetics with minimal impact on articulation. His mother's yellow Trauma Team jacket is also removable, allowing collectors to display his enhanced musculature! Accessories include an alternate head sculpt, multiple interchangeable hands, a pistol, and the hand cannon attachment used in episode 7, enabling a wide range of combat poses!
Lucy's figure faithfully recreates her iconic, striking appearance from the series, with a sculpted, slender body line. Her jacket and hip sections also utilize real fabric. Accessories include an alternate head sculpt, multiple interchangeable hands (including one holding a cigarette), a pistol, and her wire weapon, rendered with a flexible wire, perfect for dynamic poses alongside the concurrently released David figure! While the paint application and overall sculpting detail on both figures might not be exceptionally high, the inclusion of fabric clothing and their status as the first action figures from the series make them highly anticipated!
