The classic alloy toy"Chogokin"series, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, first unveiled the prototype of its latest product"RX-78F00/E Gundam"at this year's Tamashii Nations annual exhibition [TAMASHII NATION 2024]. Release date is undetermined.
In the exhibition area of the 2025 Japan World Expo (Osaka-Kansai Expo), the 17-meter-tall"RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-Sized Statue"standing next to the "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" exhibition hall was modified from the previous life-sized movable Gundam at "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA". It has been redesigned into a non-movable, high-kneeling statue gazing up at the cosmos, with the left shoulder armor, skirt armor, and leg armor replaced with transparent designs resembling solar panels or lighting fixtures. When night falls, special performances will be held with lighting and smoke effects.
The"Chogokin RX-78F00/E Gundam"is based on the previously releasedYokohama version RX-78F00, utilizing new parts to recreate the transparent armor design characteristic of the shoulder, skirt, and leg armor, and features a completely symmetrical design, unlike the statue version.
Currently, the Gundam body can be seen to also adopt an alloy movable frame, featuring metallic paintwork that adds a sense of weight. The entire machine is also printed with newly designed fuselage markings, showcasing high-density detailed modeling. Furthermore, the original Yokohama version also incorporated mechanisms to illuminate the head camera and chest vents, which are expected to be carried over to the Expo version.
