The popular alloy action figure "RIOBOT" series, produced by model manufacturer Sentinel, has officially announced its latest product, "Mazinger ZERO," from "Shin Mazinger ZERO vs. The Great General of Darkness," slated for release in June 2025.
In the manga series "Shin Mazinger ZERO," Mazinger Z is the strongest super robot developed by the genius scientist Juzo Kabuto to conquer the world. Its armaments are largely similar to the original Mazinger Z but with greatly enhanced power; a single "Photon Beam" can pierce through the Earth. Even more formidable is its ultimate system, "Mazinger Power," which possesses artificial intelligence and self-evolution. It can sequentially unleash abilities such as self-repair, absorption, enhancement, high-dimensional prediction, form transformation, and a causality weapon that can interfere with a 1% chance of victory to make it 100%. Ultimately, it reaches the seventh stage of Mazinger Power: Demonization, transforming into the "Mazinger ZERO," a doomsday devil capable of destroying the world.
"RIOBOT Mazinger ZERO" inherits the design techniques and style cultivated from previous products such as Mazinkaiser and Mazinger Emperor G, presenting this doomsday devil in a powerful size of approximately 26.5 cm in height. The armor showcases sharp lines on the chest heat sinks and the Mazinger Blades on both arms, with high-density details meticulously sculpted.
The entire figure utilizes two shades of glossy black and various metallic paint applications to express a weighty texture, while the articulated frame is constructed with alloy parts, giving it a substantial feel when handled. The chest heat sinks and the back ZERO Wings, which have a relatively monochromatic color scheme in the original setting, are crafted with a double-layered structure combining clear red and metallic red, showcasing rich detailed sculpting.
The articulation mechanisms also inherit those of previous Mazinger products. The diamond-shaped part on the abdomen, the chest heat sinks, and the base of the back ZERO Wings all feature independent articulation axes, which reduce interference with the main body's joints and expand the range of motion. Additionally, it includes a pull-out joint for the neck and an articulated jaw mechanism, allowing for the recreation of Mazinger ZERO's characteristic ferocious head sculpt.
Regarding armaments, the base of the Mazinger Blades on both arms features a rotating mechanism, and both arms can be detached and combined with a dedicated stand and effect parts to recreate the signature "Rocket Punch." The back ZERO Wings can be detached and combined with a dedicated stand to recreate the flight mode, and they also feature an original model transformation mechanism, allowing the wings to split into two and form various shapes.
The most striking feature of the product is the "Giant Mazinger Blade," measuring nearly 36 cm in total length. Made from ABS material to maintain its sharp form and reduce weight, it allows Mazinger ZERO to wield it with one hand. It also features an original model separation mechanism, allowing it to be disassembled into two giant swords for combat.
