[DAMANDO] Wife, Don't Be Mad!! Core Kaku Thunderbolt Task Force Vodka Kyou 1/9 Scale Seamless Mecha Girl - Still No Details!!

Introducing the third release in the Thunderbolt Task Force series from DAMANDO's Core Kaku line: Vodka Kyou.

This is a 1/9 scale articulated seamless mecha girl. I started collecting this series from the second release. For the unboxing of the first one, you can check the Toy People link below:

[DAMANDO] Core Kaku Thunderbolt Task Force Barbera Aka 1/9 Scale Seamless Mecha Girl - No Details!!

Vodka Kyou, just like the previous release Barbera Aka, uses the same seamless body. This series features a proprietary seamless body developed by the manufacturer, advertised as being resistant to tearing during play. The internal joints are made of metal, covered by the seamless skin. The overall handling, in terms of both the body's weight and articulation, is excellent. A minor drawback is that the elbow joints are still a bit loose, which could be improved. Fortunately, this figure doesn't come with many heavy weapons, so it doesn't suffer from the "limp" issue (like with the great axe) when holding up its armaments like the previous model did.

Since the body is mostly reused, the main changes are in the appearance, design, and equipment. Additionally, because the pegs and ports for the accessories are the same size and in the same locations, the parts are almost entirely interchangeable between figures, which is perhaps another unique feature of this series.

What I particularly like are the articulated eyeballs on the interchangeable face plates. By adjusting the eyes, you can create a wide range of expressions, making the overall presentation much richer and more complete. Another improvement is the display stand; the clamp on the base is much better this time, providing a more secure and firm grip.

After unboxing this one, my wife told me I couldn't buy any more from this series. I told her the series is probably over since there's no news of a fourth release. She then asked if I would buy a fourth one if it came out. I could only laugh it off. You know how it is—when it comes to buying action figures, you say you won't, but once you see something that captures your heart, that impulse takes over, and your wallet just won't listen.

Below is a simple unboxing and some studio shots. I hope you all enjoy it~

▼[Unboxing] Core Kaku Thunderbolt Task Force Vodka Kyou 1/9 Scale Seamless Mecha Girl

▼The outer box is wrapped in a thin, transparent plastic film. Remember to remove it all first.

▼Vodka Kyou is her name.

▼1/9 Scale Seamless Articulated Mecha Girl.

▼The back features a full-color illustration. That gaze is absolutely killer.

▼Side view. The extension and bend of the arm push the seamless material to its limits, showing a real resistance to tearing.

▼Compared to the previous release, Barbera Aka, the box is significantly smaller.

▼It opens like a drawer.

▼The contents are simple, just two layers.

▼Three interchangeable face plates and four Thunderbolt pistols.

▼In addition to the hands on the figure, four extra pairs of interchangeable hands are included.

▼Interchangeable hair parts.

▼The base is the same as the last one, with the only difference being the logo in the center. The clamp on the stand has also been greatly improved.

▼Interchangeable equipment that can be swapped with the other two characters.

▼Besides the blue ears on the main body, an extra pair of green ears is included for swapping.

▼Fully equipped, her coolness factor goes through the roof. The seamless body is just fantastic.

▼Both arms can be raised horizontally, and her legs can actually do a full split. I had her in a split several times during the photoshoot, and the crotch area didn't tear.

▼Mounting the figure on the stand allows for a wider range of poses. Unlike the previous version's soft wire clamp, this one uses a flexible plastic clamp that holds the figure much more securely. Posing her with the articulated eyeballs instantly enhances the richness of her expressions.

▼Placing them together showcases two completely different combat styles: one focused on the brutal aesthetics of direct slashing, and the other on graceful, fluid long-range shooting.

▼I've tested it for everyone—the chest is still very soft. The skin tone shading between the breasts gives the chest a more three-dimensional look.

▼The thighs use translucent blue parts, through which you can clearly see the hidden internal mechanical details.

▼Two short Thunderbolt pistols can be attached to the soles of her feet. Once attached, they act as heels, allowing the figure to stand more firmly and upright.

▼The Thunderbolt Railgun has some minor detailed paint applications.

▼A slight adjustment of the eyeballs can create a variety of different moods.

▼The lower legs feature a matte gunmetal color with gold detail paint, giving them a more mechanical appearance. The calf armor is made of metal.

▼Just like the thighs, you can see the internal details through the translucent blue arms.

▼The top on her chest is fixed. I examined it a bit, and it seems it can be removed, but doing so would completely destroy it.

▼The thrusters on both sides of the backpack have multiple deployment mechanisms.

▼The ankles use ball joints.

The two ears on her head use ball joints, as do the two tufts of hair at the back.

▼Even without the stand, she can stand very stably with the backpack on, thanks to the two short pistols on her feet.

▼Thrusters deployed.

▼The struts connecting the thrusters use metal pins, so you can handle them with confidence. The two main guns can be stored on her back, but unfortunately, the paint on the guns is too thick, posing a serious risk of paint scraping during storage, especially since the paint is white.

▼The thrusters can be worn on her back or mounted on her hips to become a unique skirt armor.

▼There is also shadow painting on the thighs and buttocks.

▼With this shading and the shape of the buttocks... those who know, know.

▼The pants can be pulled down. I've checked for everyone—there are N~O~ D~E~T~A~I~L~S.

▼The articulated eyeballs ensure you'll never get tired of playing with her.

So that's the review for the third release in the Thunderbolt Task Force series from DAMANDO's Core Kaku line: Vodka Kyou. If you like this type of seamless mecha girl where the joints are hidden, and if she suits your taste (I'm talking about the armaments, of course), you should definitely consider picking one up. The large 1/9 scale is truly satisfying for both playing and displaying.

▼My favorite, the heavy armor loadout.
