The renowned Hong Kong toy brand "ACTION TOYS" will launch the second product in its new "ACTION Alloy" series, the protagonist robot "Thunder King" (GODMARS) from the classic robot anime "Godmars" (六神合体ゴッドマーズ)! It is scheduled for release in Q2 2025! The suggested retail price is HKD 1,380.
For many veteran collectors, Godmars also holds cherished childhood memories. The work is adapted from the original manga "MARS" (マーズ) by the renowned late Japanese manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama. It first aired in Japan in October 1981, and Taiwan's CTV broadcast it in March 1989 under the translated title "Thunder King" (雷霆王). The story recounts that the protagonist, Takeru Myojin (明神タケル), is a member of the Earth Defense Force Crasher, whose true identity is a Gishin alien. When he is in danger, he can use telepathy to summon the robot Gaia (GAIA) to his aid, and in critical moments, he can make five other robots appear, combining to form "Godmars" (六神合體GODMARS), to combat the evil schemes of Emperor Zul, who seeks to invade Earth.
This Godmars (Thunder King) from ACTION TOYS' new "ACTION Alloy" series stands approximately 22 cm tall. Articulated joints throughout the figure allow it to recreate various poses from the original work, including holding swords with both hands. Both the separated forms of the six robots and their combined state can be fully reproduced. Each of the six robots can display its individual form and simple articulation. Regarding weapon accessories, it includes the signature weapon "Mars Flash" (馬爾斯閃光劍), as well as an effect part for the giant fiery glow with a "G" emanating from its abdomen, along with various interchangeable hand parts and a display stand.
