Just when we thought the various LEGO F1 releases recently, especially the ten-car lineup from the Speed Champions series, were impressive enough, it seems the Danish LEGO Group's "Formula 1 assault on wallets" is far from over! They recently officially unveiled the Technic series set number 42206, the "Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Car" 1/8 scale brick-built model! It is scheduled for release on March 1, 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$229.99.
Like the previously revealed "Ferrari SF-24," this 1/8 scale RB20 model consists of 1639 pieces. Once assembled, it stands approximately 14 cm tall and measures an impressive 63 cm in length! The overall construction uses black, dark blue, and yellow Technic elements, faithfully recreating the RB20's more aggressive and sharper nose compared to its predecessor, the RB19, as well as its sleek, elongated silhouette. Coupled with sponsor decals spread across the body, the Oracle Red Bull Racing team logo, and beautifully printed high-speed tires, it truly looks incredibly cool!
Regarding the play features, it includes front-wheel steering driven by the front wheels and a roof knob, a two-speed gearbox, a differential, and adjustable rear spoiler angles that replicate the DRS (Drag Reduction System) technology of real F1 cars. You can also open the engine cover to admire the exquisite V6 engine with its movable pistons. It's worth noting that this Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 also has a Speed Champions series version, set number 77243 – you can collect both!
