Three years ago, Guillermo del Toro wrote and directed "Nightmare Alley," a star-studded remake of the classic "Nightmare Alley." Despite an ensemble cast featuring Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett, and Bradley Cooper, the film, produced with a $60 million budget, struggled at the box office, failing to reach even $40 million worldwide, and generated far less buzz than anticipated.

However, del Toro's deep passion for "Nightmare Alley" means his creative journey with the film is far from over. Two years ago, del Toro released a special black and white version of "Nightmare Alley," subtitled "Vision in Darkness and Light." Early this morning, he took to Bluesky to announce, "I am working on a black and white extended cut of 'Nightmare Alley.' Stay tuned." While del Toro offered no further details, more information is expected to be revealed soon.
