The beginner-friendly assembly model series『ENTRY GRADE』, launched by BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan, today announced the latest Gunpla products themed after the 'RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-Sized Statue' at the Japan World Expo:「1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam」、「1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam Option Parts Set (EX-001 Glass Feather Equipment)」, slated for release in April 2025.
Standing 17 meters tall next to the "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" exhibition hall at the 2025 Japan World Expo (Osaka/Kansai Expo) site, the『RX-78F00/E Gundam Life-Sized Statue』is a modification of the previous life-sized movable Gundam from 'GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA'. It has been redesigned into a non-articulated, high-kneeling pose looking up at the cosmos, with the left shoulder armor, skirt armor, and leg armor replaced with new solar panel-like designs. At night, a special performance featuring lighting and smoke effects will take place.
However, the statue outside the pavilion is not the complete form of this "RX-78F00/E Gundam". A brand-new video work played inside the pavilion will transport viewers into a "world where humans and mobile suits coexist", experiencing a journey via orbital elevator to a space workstation. Along the way, they will encounter the Gundam equipped with "Glass Feather" equipment on its back, featuring magnificent solar panel-like wing designs.
These two kits, released this time, inherit the characteristics of the ENTRY GRADE series, requiring no tools for assembly. The parts are rich in color, minimal in quantity, and low in assembly difficulty, making it easy for even first-time model builders to complete. Compared to the separately sold 1/144 version, while offering a nearly twofold price advantage, the detail molding, color separation, and part division designs are relatively simplified, for instance, the solar panels are represented by stickers rather than clear parts.
The「ENTRY GRADE 1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam」kit faithfully reproduces the high-density line design of the Gundam statue's entire body. It also features flexible movable joints to recreate the characteristic pose of the Expo statue. The product also includes armaments such as a beam rifle, beam saber hilt, and shield, allowing for combat poses not seen in reality.
The「1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam Option Parts Set (EX-001 Glass Feather Equipment)」includes parts such as the "Glass Feather Equipment" featured in the new video work, "Beam Welding Gun (Deployed/Stored State)", and "Statue Version Replacement Backpack". These can be combined with the separately sold RX-78F00/E Gundam main body to recreate the complete form equipped with the Glass Feather. However, some armament parts have noticeable hollow designs, and the blue sections of the solar panels are only reproduced with stickers.
