Director Peter Berg, known for "Battleship" and "Lone Survivor," is set to debut his new series "American Primeval" on Netflix on January 9 next year. The first trailer for the show was released recently.
Leading the cast is one of Berg's longtime collaborators, Taylor Kitsch. Kitsch previously starred in Berg's "Battleship" and "Lone Survivor," was a core cast member of the NBC series "Friday Night Lights," which Berg executive produced, and also appeared in Berg's Netflix series "Painkiller" last year.

The "American Primeval" limited series also features Shea Whigham, Dane DeHaan, Jai Courtney, and Betty Gilpin. Mark L. Smith, co-writer of "The Revenant" and the upcoming "Twisters," penned the script for the entire season.
The official synopsis describes a mother and son attempting to escape their past and build a new home amidst the free yet brutal American wilderness.
