Michelle Yeoh, who famously portrayed Terran Emperor Philippa Georgiou in the "Star Trek: Discovery" series, is set to reprise her iconic role next month in her dedicated spin-off film, "Star Trek: Section 31." This project, initially conceived as a spin-off series in 2018, later transitioned into a feature-length film. The second trailer for the movie was recently released, with the film slated to premiere on Paramount Pictures' streaming platform, Paramount+, on January 24th next year.

"Section 31" was penned by Craig Sweeny, a writer who also contributed to "Discovery," and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, who helmed multiple episodes of "Discovery." The cast also features Sam Richardson and Omari Hardwick, among others. The film follows Philippa Georgiou as she joins Starfleet's clandestine Section 31, tasked with protecting the Federation while simultaneously confronting the indelible sins of her past.
