To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1995 classic masterpiece "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", Toho officially announced the launch of the "Burning Godzilla Year" project, which will successively release various merchandise featuring Burning Godzilla. Consequently, BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, also announced today the commercialization of the "Burning Godzilla (1995) 70th Anniversary Special Memorial Ver.", with the release date yet to be determined.
Burning Godzilla (1995), who appeared in the 1995 Heisei VS series' Godzilla finale "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", resulted from a violent nuclear fission reaction of high-purity natural uranium in the Earth's strata, causing Godzilla's home, Birth Island, to instantly disappear. Due to an abnormal homing instinct, Godzilla's internal nuclear energy became abnormally active, continuously heating up like a massive nuclear weapon. Godzilla's skin turned a super-hot crimson, and he could emit a more powerful red heat ray, but his body temperature was approaching the critical 1200℃ for core meltdown, bringing him to the brink of death.
While detailed product information for the "S.H.MonsterArts Burning Godzilla (1995) 70th Anniversary Special Memorial Ver." has not yet been released, the currently available preview image suggests that the product is likely a modification of the previous regular edition, which was sculpted, colored, and supervised by Yuji Sakai.
