Less than two days after stepping down as "Superman" in 2022, Henry Cavill swiftly announced his plans to spearhead a live-action "Warhammer 40,000" cinematic universe, signing a development deal with Amazon and MGM Studios. Two years later, Cavill recently posted an update, revealing that the first project in this universe is now taking shape, though specific details remain under wraps. However, entertainment outlet Deadline followed up, reporting that this inaugural project is indeed the long-rumored series.

Deadline noted that Cavill had already assembled a writing team to brainstorm story directions for the "Warhammer 40K" live-action universe. Based on the existing material, the decision was made to prioritize the series' production. Deadline speculated that Amazon and MGM chose this timing for the announcement because Games Workshop, the game's publisher, had warned in July that a creative consensus needed to be reached by December of this year. Failure to do so would prevent the adaptation rights from being extended for another year, prompting Amazon and MGM to finalize their plans before the deadline.

In today's official social media post, Cavill excitedly shared (pictured above): "To celebrate some 'Warhammer' news, I decided to make a pilgrimage back to the place where I first bought my 'Warhammer' models over three decades ago... this 'little shop' right in my hometown of Jersey!"
