Following the highly popular "Waiting Impatiently" (tentative translation, Machibouke) toy series from Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s GASHAPON division, which launched the "Kingdom Characters Waiting Impatiently" (キングダム まちぼうけ) first volume based on the "Kingdom" anime, a new second volume has now been released on GASHAPON ONLINE! Shipments are scheduled to begin in late April 2025, with a suggested retail price of 400 Japanese Yen per capsule. There are a total of 4 types to collect.
"Kingdom," a historical manga created by Japanese manga artist Yasuhisa Hara, is set in the tumultuous late Warring States period of China, a time before the entire land was unified. The path to Qin's unification of the world unfolds through the collaboration of two individuals: "Shin," a servant who aspires to become the greatest general under heaven, and "Ei Sei," a king with no real power but who desires to unify the Central Plains by force. The two meet due to Shin's friend "Hyou," and from a small hut in Qin's "Kokuhi Village," they embark on a majestic journey to create an unprecedented nation!
The "Kingdom Characters Waiting Impatiently" gashapon series reinterprets the characters in a charming SD (Super Deformed) scale, capturing their unique features within a height of 4-5 centimeters, and depicting them in a pose as if waiting for the opportune moment to go into battle. This second volume features renowned generals who were active on battlefields across different eras, including "Ouki," the Monstrous Bird of Qin, whose name struck fear into the hearts of all nations in the Central Plains; "Tou," one of the Six Great Generals of the Qin during King Ei Sei's era; "Ouhon," a young-generation general who leads the Gyokuhou unit and pierces enemy throats with his superb spear techniques; and "Mouten," a tactical genius who can interpret battlefields from the perspective of a Great General under Heaven.
● Ouhon
● Mouten
Unlike Ouhon and Mouten, who sport helpless expressions as if waiting so long they're questioning life, General Ouki appears with a direct eye-roll! Truly befitting the Monstrous Bird of Qin, and his face is indeed huge; Tou's double eyelashes are also beautifully and faithfully depicted, becoming more amusing the more you look at them.
