Kotobukiya, the Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its popular mecha girl plastic model kit series, "Megami Device," the "KOBU AMENO-UZUME SUNSHINE," slated for release in May 2025.
The new character, "AMENO-UZUME," is also designed by Nidy-2D-, the designer behind the Asra and KOBU series. Her inspiration comes from the goddess of performing arts and Japan's oldest dancer in the Japanese myth 'Ama-no-Iwato legend.' In terms of machine settings, she is equipped with a song and dance support system, similar to the previously released "Megami Device 'ASRA NINE-TAILS MATSURI'" and "ASRA TAMAMONOMAE ENBU'." This system allows her to enhance the performance of allied units and interfere with enemy actions through song and dance.
The Megami Device "KOBU AMENO-UZUME SUNSHINE" model is a modification of the "KOBU SUSANOWO REGALIA'," featuring brown hair, tanned skin, and sun-kissed armor colors. It includes three new facial expressions: "smiling face," "dancing face," and "singing face," showcasing a healthy, lively, and charming dancer image unlike previous releases.
It also utilizes the large-scale Machineca body newly designed by sculptor Masaki Apsy for the KOBU series, allowing for dynamic posing at an approximate height of 18 cm, perfectly recreating AMENO-UZUME's graceful dancing posture. The weaponry is also a recolor from SUSANOWO REGALIA. The crown-shaped head halo can be reassembled into a shield and can also combine with various parts of the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi (Ten-Fist Sword) for enhancement, such as the [Heavenly Form] for enhanced cutting ability and the [Serpent Form] for enhanced thrusting ability. Its silhouette can also be freely changed using the standard 3mm connection points.
