After months of casting news for "Scream 7," it has been officially announced that Mckenna Grace is joining the ensemble. Rumors of her involvement have been circulating since October, but have only now been confirmed. However, Grace will not be playing the daughter of original protagonist Sidney Prescott, as previously speculated. That role recently went to "1883" actress Isabel May (pictured below). Coincidentally, both Grace and May were part of the supporting cast of "Young Sheldon." Details about Grace's character have not yet been revealed.

Grace isn't the only member of the new generation of Ghostbusters to join "Scream 7." Her co-star from "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" and "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire," Celeste O’Connor (pictured above), was announced as part of the cast even earlier.

Other confirmed cast members include Neve Campbell, who sat out the sixth film over a salary dispute; Patrick Dempsey, making his first return to the franchise since "Scream 3"; and series mainstay Courteney Cox, who has appeared in every installment. The film is currently scheduled for a February 27, 2026 release.

"Scream 7" will be directed by the franchise's original writer, Kevin Williamson. Guy Busick, who co-wrote the previous two films, returns to pen the screenplay, with his former writing partner James Vanderbilt receiving a story credit.
