PROOF Co., Ltd. (プルーフ), dedicated to the development and production of high-quality collectible toy models, has announced a new product based on the popular classic anime "Ranma ½" – the "Shampoo" 1/7 scale pre-painted figure. The suggested retail price is 26,400 JPY, with an anticipated release in May 2025!
"Ranma ½" is a manga series by Japanese manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, serialized in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday" from 1987 to 1996. It was adapted into a TV anime by STUDIO DEEN in 1989, and again animated by MAPPA in 2024. The story revolves around the hilarious and chaotic daily life of Ranma Saotome, a boy who turns into a girl when splashed with cold water and reverts to a boy with hot water, due to falling into a cursed spring during training, and his fiancée Akane Tendo, as they face various romantic entanglements and martial arts challenges.
Shampoo is a warrior from the Chinese fighting tribe "Joketsuzoku." By chance, she was defeated by female Ranma and, following tradition, pursued Ranma to Japan with the intention of marrying him. This 1/7 scale pre-painted figure of Shampoo stands approximately 26 cm tall, depicting Shampoo in a cheongsam, holding a paper umbrella, and sitting on a cherry blossom tree. The sculpting beautifully captures her elegant silhouette, from her slender limbs and graceful body curves extending to the ripples on the water base. The folds of her form-fitting cheongsam, the dynamic flow of her hair, and the intricate details of the paper umbrella are all exquisitely reproduced! The cherry blossoms on the tree and the water ripples are crafted from transparent materials, creating a translucent effect. In addition to faithfully recreating the patterns on her cheongsam, the paintwork also deepens the overall shading, giving the entire piece a richer visual depth!
