Japanese model company Kaiyodo (KAIYODO) has officially unveiled a new product in its popular articulated figure series "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI" based on the popular anime and manga series "Yu-Gi-Oh!" — the "Dark Yugi" articulated figure. It has a suggested retail price of 8,800 JPY and is scheduled for release in August 2025!
"Yu-Gi-Oh!" (遊☆戯☆王) is a manga series by Japanese artist Kazuki Takahashi, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1996 to 2004. In 1999, it was adapted into a TV anime by Toei Animation. The protagonist, Yugi Muto, is skilled in various types of games and toys, including video games and board games. After spending eight years solving the Millennium Puzzle he received from his grandfather, he becomes possessed by the spirit of a Pharaoh residing within the puzzle, becoming Yugi's second personality, Dark Yugi, whom Yugi himself refers to as "the other me."
This AMAZING YAMAGUCHI Dark Yugi stands approximately 15 cm tall, meticulously sculpted to recreate Yugi's unique geometric hairstyle and slender physique. The muscular definition of the arms and the intricate wrinkle details of the clothing are also exquisitely reproduced. The jacket draped over his shoulders is a single detachable part, with cuts made at the shoulders and hem, allowing for dynamic, flowing poses to be adjusted via the Yamaguchi articulation system! Accessories include four interchangeable face plates, five sets of interchangeable hands, a set of five cards held in hand, a single card, the Millennium Puzzle which can be worn on the chest, and the crucial Duel Disk for battles. Combined with its flexible articulation, it perfectly recreates the dueling poses from the series!
Furthermore, pre-orders placed at Kaiyodo's official stores will include a bonus accessory, the "Gold Sarcophagus," adding even more display options!
