World-renowned TV and film special effects company "WETA Workshop" recently unveiled new additions to its "The Miniature Skulls Collection," which offers a unique perspective on the creatures of The Lord of the Rings through the lens of excavated animal bones. Following the initial five pieces, these new releases include the imposing Balrog Skull. This article will provide product information for the "Skull of a Mordor Orc" and the "Skull of a Warg"! WETA's fascinating "Miniature Skulls Collection" allows us to view these new collectibles not just as Lord of the Rings fans or toy enthusiasts, but also from the perspective of archaeologists or ancient artifact lovers, appreciating the intrinsic (physical) charm of these classic creatures from different angles! Jamie Beswarick, who sculpted these skull collectibles, also participated in the character design for The Lord of the Rings film series, significantly enhancing the significance and authenticity of this collection, making them truly feel like treasures from Middle-earth.
The main material for the skulls is Polystone, while the obsidian-like display stands evoke the atmosphere of Saruman's research artifacts, giving them a museum exhibit feel – truly cool!
These two skulls are from a Mordor Orc and the even larger Warg. The Mordor Orc skull features deeply sunken eye sockets and a powerful jaw. Its canines, larger and sharper than a human's, indicate a diet of tearing raw flesh, while the reinforced cranial structure fully reflects the Orcs' constant state of battle. Next is the Warg skull, which exudes an intense sense of menace from its mere presence. The skull possesses all the characteristics of a top predator, with sharp teeth and an aggressive appearance from every angle. Coupled with the delicate sculpting and painting that mimics real bone, both pieces are highly desirable!
