Japanese brand GOODSMILE COMPANY's "Nendoroid" series, which features over a thousand characters, has simultaneously released two new products based on the popular classic anime "Ranma ½" – the "Saotome Ranma" and "Ranma" articulated figures. Both are priced at 6,500 JPY and are scheduled for release in August 2025!
"Ranma ½" is a manga series by Japanese manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, serialized in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday" from 1987 to 1996. It was adapted into a TV anime by STUDIO DEEN in 1989, and again animated by MAPPA in 2024. The story revolves around the hilarious and chaotic daily life of Saotome Ranma, a boy who turns into a girl when splashed with cold water and reverts to a boy with hot water after falling into a cursed spring during training, and his fiancée Akane Tendo, as they face various romantic entanglements and martial arts challenges.
This time, "Saotome Ranma" and "Ranma" are produced as Nendoroids, representing Ranma's male and female forms respectively. While maintaining the adorable Nendoroid proportions, subtle differences in their physiques cleverly showcase Ranma's two appearances. Sculpting faithfully recreates details such as their martial arts uniforms and hairstyles. The male Saotome Ranma comes with three interchangeable face plates: a smiling face, a dumbfounded face, and an anxious face. The female Ranma includes three face plates: a smiling face, a shouting face, and a cheerful face. Both figures also come with a cold water bucket and a hot water kettle model, allowing them to be displayed side-by-side to simultaneously showcase Ranma's two forms!
