YOUTOOZ, a toy company known for releasing numerous meme-themed toys, has finally made its move again, launching a new product based on the recently super-popular internet meme – the "Chill Guy" 9-inch plush toy. The suggested retail price is US$29.99, and it is expected to be released in May 2025!
The "Chill Guy" meme, which has recently taken the internet by storm, originated from an illustration posted by artist Phillip Banks on his X account in October 2023. The post read, "This is my new character, he's just a Chill Guy who doesn't really care about anything." This image suddenly went viral globally in August 2024 after being heavily referenced on TikTok, even leading to the creation of the cryptocurrency "CHILLGUY"!
This time, YOUTOOZ has collaborated with Phillip Banks, the original creator of Chill Guy, to produce a plush doll of Chill Guy, approximately 22.8 cm tall. It features his iconic look: wearing a gray sweater and red canvas shoes, with his hands in his pockets. A small tail, not visible in the original illustrations, has been added to his back. His relaxed smile and blush on his face appear to be embroidered. The most puzzling question for everyone is undoubtedly, "How is the issue of his face only being on one side, like Peppa Pig, handled when making it three-dimensional?" The answer is: it's not handled; the back is simply left blank. After all, he's just a Chill Guy~
