The prequel film to The Lord of the Rings series, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, is adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's short appendices. Executive produced by Academy Award-winning director Peter Jackson, it features the original production team and classic scores composed by Oscar-winning maestro Howard Shore for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Set 183 years before the War of the Ring, it tells the story of Helm Hammerhand, the last king of Rohan's first bloodline. Facing a declaration of war from Wulf, leader of the Dunlendings, Helm and his people make a desperate stand at the ancient fortress of Hornburg (later known as Helm's Deep)... In this dire situation, Hela, daughter of Helm Hammerhand, demonstrates her regal bearing by leading her people to defend against formidable enemies.
