Warner Bros. Pictures today announced several shifts in its upcoming film slate. The highly anticipated DC sequel, "The Batman Part II," which has faced production delays, will now hit theaters on October 1, 2027, pushed back from its original October 2, 2026, release date. Taking over that vacated 2026 slot will be an untitled film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu ("The Revenant").

Meanwhile, another film starring Robert Pattinson, the sci-fi adaptation "Mickey 17," is moving up its release. Originally slated for April 18, 2025, the Bong Joon-ho-directed feature will now premiere on March 7, 2025. This change comes as it swaps dates with "Sinners," the new film starring Michael B. Jordan and directed by "Black Panther" helmer Ryan Coogler. "Sinners," initially set for March 7, will now open on April 18, 2025. According to Deadline, the delay for "Sinners" is due to the film being shot on celluloid, with insufficient crew available to complete the remaining film post-production work.
