Renowned entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman has recently been sharing frequent updates on his Patreon page regarding a potential "Power Rangers" reboot. Just two days ago, Richtman first reported that a new "Power Rangers" film and an animated series were in development. Today, he followed up by confirming that the new movie will establish a fresh rebooted universe with a high-budget production, similar to the 2017 Lionsgate film, with an estimated budget of around $100 million. Paramount Pictures is currently reported as the leading contender to acquire the remake rights.

This isn't Paramount's first foray into a "Power Rangers" reboot. Back in 2019, reports surfaced that Jonathan Entwistle, director of the Netflix series "The End of the F***ing World," and Patrick Burleigh, writer of "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway," were developing a reboot film involving a time-travel plot. In that concept, the Ranger protagonists would be transported to the 1990s and tasked with finding a way back to the present. However, that particular reboot plan ultimately didn't move forward, and it remains unclear if it's connected to the current reboot initiative Richtman has reported.
