Developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks, the action-adventure game "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" has scored a major victory since its December 9th launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC. The title has earned both critical acclaim and fan praise, boasting an impressive Metacritic score of 86 and a 91% positive player rating on Steam.
While official sales figures for "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" remain under wraps, the game reportedly rocketed to second place on the North American sales charts in its debut week, trailing only Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops."
Perhaps due to the commercial success of "The Great Circle," IP holder Disney is reportedly keen on having the team continue with more installments in the video game series. This scoop comes from well-known journalist Jez Corden of Windows Central.
According to Corden on the "Xbox Two" podcast, Disney officials have apparently already picked up the phone to tell the development team they "want more 'Indiana Jones' games." This conversation allegedly took place just a few weeks after the game's release.
It's worth noting that Douglas Reilly, Vice President of Lucasfilm Games, has previously mentioned the possibility of pushing the "Indiana Jones" video game series forward. Although no other projects are confirmed to be in development, Reilly stated that the team is searching for "the right story," specifically by exploring the gaps between the films to create content that could become an excellent video game narrative.
