Earlier today, Gervais posted a selfie of himself in a bathtub (pictured above), stating in the caption: "I'm in the bath, thinking about what I'd say on stage if I were hosting Sunday's Golden Globe Awards. There's been plenty of material over the past year (laughing-crying emoji)."
Gervais then followed up with a few impromptu jokes he'd come up with, including one where he quipped, "Hello, and welcome to the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. What a year it's been. Hundreds of celebrities took the opportunity to visit the Pope in the Vatican, many of them from Hollywood. Apparently, they're not content with just being part of the world's second-largest pedophile ring..."
He continued to joke, noting that Justin Timberlake had been convicted of drunk driving and suggesting that if he went to jail, he'd hear the phrase "Sexy Back" more often, referencing Timberlake's hit song. Gervais' final joke involved Kevin Hart reportedly feeling uncomfortable at a party hosted by Puff Daddy (also known as Diddy), claiming Diddy harassed him until Hart had to shout, "I'm a dwarf, not a child!" The joke alludes to Diddy's recent accusations of sexual assault involving multiple minors and Hart's short stature.
