With Hideo Kojima's "Death Stranding 2 On The Beach," "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A," "Ghost of Yōtei", "Monster Hunter Wilds", and the globally anticipated blockbuster "Grand Theft Auto VI" all slated for release, 2025 is shaping up to be another fiercely competitive year for gaming.
However, a major concern for fans is the absence of a second "Grand Theft Auto VI" trailer, more than a year after its initial reveal. Coupled with the near-total lack of concrete information about the game during this period, many players are questioning whether the title will launch on schedule or be pushed back to 2026, or even 2027.
Addressing this speculation, Bloomberg's senior journalist Jason Schreier specifically mentioned "Grand Theft Auto VI" while discussing his observations on the 2025 gaming industry. He stated that the title is undoubtedly a massive and ambitious project, requiring Rockstar Games to exercise extreme caution and avoid overworking its development team. Therefore, a potential delay in its release would be unavoidable.
"Grand Theft Auto VI is a massive and ambitious game, and I think it's going to be delayed until 2026," Schreier said.
If this prediction holds true, the PC version would likely follow in 2027, adhering to the typical staggered release schedule. While such a delay would undoubtedly disappoint long-awaiting players, the industry has seen the consequences, notably with CD Projekt RED's "Cyberpunk 2077," and certainly hopes "Grand Theft Auto VI" avoids a rushed launch.
