Luyao Creation launched limited-edition products in collaboration with the National Palace Museum in 2022, which have been honored with the Silver A' Design Award in the "Toys, Games and Hobby Products Design" category (top 5% in its category) from Italy. This achievement marks Luyao Creation as the fifth Taiwanese brand to win a Silver Award or higher in this competition.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our fans in Taiwan for their unwavering support; without it, we would not be able to showcase Taiwanese design to the world. We also thank all partners at Luyao Creation, as we have truly realized the vision of 'designing toys'.

The "Luyao Creation x National Palace Museum" co-branded limited-edition series elegantly merges art with reality by combining Luyao Creation's distinctive IP characters—Cici (刺刺), SU Corpse (SU屍), and Shaved Ice Bear (刨冰熊)—with characteristic artifacts from the National Palace Museum's collection, thereby preserving cultural heritage through innovative and creative expressions.

The Cici (刺刺) Series: The hedgehog, wrapped in hard quills but possessing a soft interior, symbolizes individuals with autism, fostering public empathetic understanding. This product, "Jadeite Cabbage Cici" (翠玉白菜刺刺), draws its creative inspiration from the National Palace Museum's collection piece, the "Jadeite Cabbage" from the Qing Dynasty. Among the many treasures at the National Palace Museum, the "Jadeite Cabbage" is undoubtedly one of the focal points, attracting millions of domestic and international visitors annually. Therefore, the "Jadeite Cabbage" is integrated with Cici, skillfully presenting a substantial and impactful work. During production, a one-piece molding process was employed, making it difficult to observe any seams under light, giving the entire piece a crystal-clear, jade-like luster, similar to emerald. The back of the piece is delicately carved with layers of cabbage leaf shapes and textures, further adorned with the classic small katydid, adding the finishing touch to the work.

Another Cici (刺刺) series piece, "Blue and White Porcelain Cici" (青花瓷刺刺), is inspired by the National Palace Museum's collection piece, the "Blue and White Porcelain Bowl with Four Seasons Floral Design" from the Xuande reign of the Ming Dynasty. Cici is rendered in a porcelain-like material, painted with a four-seasons floral pattern, signifying that Cici's design, like the four seasons, is ever-changing, presenting a retro-elegant yet charmingly playful form. Its exquisite size allows it to fit perfectly in the palm of one's hand. Upon viewing, one will notice the deep blue gradient on the back, chest, and brim, as well as the floral motifs, which are as captivating as porcelain. The overall piece exhibits a crystal-clear texture, and combined with the elegant Cici and porcelain patterns, it immerses one in the beautiful ambiance of the changing seasons.

SU Corpse (SU屍) and Shaved Ice Bear (刨冰熊), through creative design, address environmental issues and advocate for reducing food waste and global warming actions. These creations collectively enhance public awareness, combining art with critical social dialogue. This piece, "SU Corpse Alpha - Blue and White Porcelain" (SU屍Alpha-青花瓷), draws its creative inspiration from the National Palace Museum's collection piece, the "Enamelware Ewer with Blue Floral Design on White Ground, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Reign," as a design reference. It features a blue and white porcelain-like coloring, combined with the floral patterns on the ewer, accented with golden lacquer. This enhances the overall texture of the collectible, giving SU Corpse a conflicting beauty that transcends time and space.

"Blue and White Porcelain Shaved Ice Bear" (青花瓷刨冰熊) is inspired by the National Palace Museum's collection piece, the "Blue and White Porcelain Jar with Chrysanthemum Medallion Design and Lid, Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng Reign." The small bowl-shaped Shaved Ice Bear is crafted from a porcelain-like material, showcasing a crystal-clear and translucent texture. Its design inspiration comes from the chrysanthemum medallion motif, with the small bowl-shaped Shaved Ice Bear serving as the porcelain-like material. The overall form is both retro-elegant and charmingly playful, blending grace and fun to present a unique artistic style.

Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to all colleagues involved in the design and production, as well as to the various committee members of the National Palace Museum for their trust and support. We also thank every "Little Marli" (小馬力們) who loves and silently supports us. Because of you, Luyao Creation can continue to innovate, allowing international awards to give significant recognition to Taiwanese designer toys! On this path, Luyao Creation remains proud of Taiwanese designers and looks forward to a better future and development for Taiwanese toys. We will continue to work hard!
