Hongo Takeshi transforms by wearing a special reinforced suit imbued with grasshopper abilities, granting him night vision. The suit can deflect bullets and possesses the terrifying jumping power of a grasshopper. The design prototype for Masked Rider No. 1 in this work is Masked Rider No. 1 (Sakurajima Version).

"S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Masked Rider No. 1 / Hongo Takeshi (THE NEXT)" boasts a physique and sculpt that more closely resembles the suit from the show. The compound eyes "C-Eyes" on the mask are made with clear parts. The slender body proportions and the wrinkles across the entire body are meticulously reproduced, pursuing the realistic texture of the special reinforced suit. The scars on the head mask, sustained during battles with the secret organization "Shocker," are perfectly recreated using digital printing technology. Various parts such as the mask, chest "Converter Lung," gloves, and boots are faithfully reproduced using different shades of green. The shoulder joints connecting to the body utilize a new movable structure, allowing for natural posing of "MASKED RIDER No.1"'s signature moves. The neck, abdomen, and areas around the belt use soft parts. Designed with motorcycle riding in mind, the abdomen can be tucked under the belt, ensuring a wide range of motion. Furthermore, it can recreate impressive battle scenes from the show, as well as a rich variety of actions. The scarf is made of fabric with an embedded wire. This allows for detailed recreation of intense action scenes and various poses, such as riding against the wind. Additionally, an interchangeable head is included to recreate the appearance of the mask being removed. Masaya Kikawada, who played "Hongo Takeshi" in "Masked Rider THE NEXT," underwent a facial scan, and his facial bone structure was reproduced. Based on data from that time, Hongo Takeshi as he appeared during the film's release (2007) was created.

I absolutely love Masked Rider The First and The Next! However, when the S.H.Figuarts versions were released, their sculpts were completely unsatisfactory! So, out of love, I simply couldn't accept them and didn't acquire them... After waiting ten years, I can finally make my move now.

The main body stands approximately 145mm tall. Accessories only include 3 pairs of interchangeable wrists (left and right), an interchangeable head, and a spare antenna set, so there isn't much playability to speak of. The articulation of the Shinkocchou Seihou is not bad. The joints have appropriate tightness, and standing on one leg is not an issue. QC, coloring, and paint application are decent, except for the scarf... Of course, its biggest selling point is its perfect appearance. The Shinkocchou Seihou is indeed impeccable in terms of its sculpt!

While there are no particular outstanding advantages, it is definitely a good product. I absolutely adore those thick chest muscles! Although Bandai will surely reuse this mold multiple times, I'm definitely not going to escape it... Next up will probably be a Tamashii Web Exclusive or Event Exclusive Rider The First...
