BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced that the latest product from the 6-inch articulated action figure series "GUNDAM UNIVERSE", designed for Mobile Suit Gundam fans worldwide, will be "Gundam Epyon" from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, scheduled for release in June 2025.
OZ-13MS Gundam Epyon is a transformable mobile suit secretly developed by former OZ Supreme Commander Treize Khushrenada during his dismissal and confinement, based on data from the Tallgeese and the five Gundams. Unlike other weapons designed for slaughter and victory, this machine's design reflects Treize's chivalrous spirit and beliefs. Its armaments are limited to close-combat weapons suitable for duels, such as a beam sword, a shield equipped with a heat rod, and twin arm claws. It boasts excellent mobility, a "Twin Dragon" flight mode transformation mechanism, and also features the "Epyon System," which is analogous to the "ZERO System" of the Wing Gundam Zero, making its performance top-tier in the series.
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Gundam Epyon" differs from previous products in the series by adopting the newly developed "UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME" articulated inner frame. This frame simultaneously maintains joint strength and expands the range of articulation, which was previously a common complaint. Designs such as pull-out shoulder joints and front skirt armor that can rotate upwards by 90 degrees to allow for high kneeling poses enable the mobile suit to be posed in various dynamic battle stances.
The overall design is based on the anime settings, integrated with the "GUNDAM UNIVERSE" series style, recreating the sharp forms of the shoulder armor, leg armor, and wings, though the outer armor appears visually thicker. The entire machine's wine-red armor features metallic paint, with numerous original panel lines added to enhance detail. Accessories include three pairs of interchangeable hands, activated/deactivated beam swords, an articulated heat rod, and a shield, allowing for the recreation of this machine's characteristic cool close-combat poses!
