Launched by MegaHouse, the "VARIABLE ACTION" product series (VA for short) combines excellent sculpting, articulation, and exquisite paintwork. In June 2025, they are scheduled to re-release a product from the "D-SPEC" series, which features chibi-style robots. This particular item is the main mecha, "Dunbine" (ダンバイン), piloted by the protagonist Sho Zama, from the classic anime series "Aura Battler Dunbine" (聖戦士ダンバイン)! The reference price is 9,680 JPY.

"Aura Battler Dunbine" is a classic robot anime that debuted in 1983. It primarily tells the story of Sho Zama (ショウ・ザマ), a protagonist from the surface world who is summoned to Byston Well, an alternate dimension located between the ocean and land. Possessing powerful "Aura" (オーラ), he inadvertently boards the Aura Battler "Dunbine" and becomes embroiled in the power struggles and intrigues of that world. Facing numerous enemies with powerful, malevolent Aura, he and his companions must constantly fight to resist the onslaught, and thus the story unfolds.
This VARIABLE ACTION D-SPEC Dunbine is essentially a re-release. Standing approximately 12 cm tall, while it features a chibi proportion, it remarkably captures the vivid and realistic essence of Aura Battlers like Dunbine, which are known for their relatively compact stature. It almost perfectly reproduces Dunbine's various forms from the original work. Thanks to its excellent joint articulation, it can strike a variety of poses, including flying, drawing its sword, and holding it. The eyes and wings utilize clear parts. Accessories include 3 sets of interchangeable hand parts, an Aura Sword with its sheath, and hand parts for the Aura Shot.
