News of a live-action standalone "Prince Charming" film from Disney Studios first circulated last October, with "Wonka" director Paul King tapped to helm the project. Chris Hemsworth was later confirmed to star as the titular prince, with Daisy Edgar-Jones as the female lead. Now, prominent industry insider Daniel Richtman has reportedly revealed new plot details for the film on his Patreon page.

According to Richtman's report, Edgar-Jones will play an animator whose creation—Prince Charming, played by Hemsworth—leaps from her drawings into the real world. This premise suggests "Prince Charming" will deviate from a traditional fairy tale setting, adopting a more meta approach similar to Disney's "Enchanted" franchise.
Two years ago, Richtman had previously reported that Hemsworth's version of the prince was being envisioned as a "bumbling fool." Last year, outlet World of Reel claimed Disney was looking to emulate the live-action "Barbie" by portraying the prince as a character with a Ken-like personality. However, these details remain unconfirmed rumors pending official word from the studio.
In addition to directing, Paul King will co-write the screenplay with his collaborators from the "Paddington" franchise, Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker. While a release date has not yet been announced, the film is expected to begin production in the UK next year.
