"TOYRISE," the transforming and combining toy series launched by T-SPARK, the high-end toy brand under Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, has announced its latest product from the classic robot anime "Armored Trooper VOTOMS," the "Scopedog Red Shoulder Custom," slated for release in September 2025.
The official main AT developed by the Gilgamesh Army, the "ATM-09-ST Scopedog," was the most mass-produced unit during the Hundred Years' War. In the series, besides being piloted by the protagonist Chirico Cuvie, its high versatility led to it being modified into various derivative specifications and utilized by different units. Among them, the infamous "Red Shoulder Battalion," also known as the "Vampire Unit," adopted the Scopedog as its standard unit, with its most prominent feature being the red paint on its right shoulder. Chirico himself once disguised his Scopedog as an unsettling Red Shoulder specification to fight against the public security police, though the position of the red shoulder armor was reversed compared to the true Red Shoulder units.
The "TOYRISE Scopedog Red Shoulder Custom" released this time is based on Chirico's unit specifications, reproducing the unit's triple rotary lens, thick armor with numerous rivets, and various armaments at a 1/48 scale with a total height of approximately 8.5 cm.
Thanks to the new mechanisms developed by TAKARA TOMY, it boasts excellent articulation and features. In addition to basic posing of the head and limbs with handheld weapons, it also reproduces the opening and closing mechanisms of the cockpit and various maintenance hatches, the rotation of the triple lens, and the parked state with the lower body folded. The deployed cockpit not only features internal detailing but can also accommodate a Chirico figure of the same scale.
Weapon accessories include a rocket launcher, heavy machine gun, shoulder missile pod, Gatling gun, heavy firearm, and a fire control backpack, all of which can be equipped on various parts of the Scopedog. The rockets and missiles are presented as individual parts and can be removed from their respective launchers or pods.
