"TOYRISE," the transforming and combining toy series from T-SPARK, a high-end toy brand under Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, has announced its latest product from the classic robot anime "Armored Trooper VOTOMS": the "Scopedog Melquian Army Specification," slated for release in September 2025.
The "ATM-09-ST Scopedog," the official main Armored Trooper (AT) developed by the Gilgamesh Army, was the most mass-produced unit during the Hundred Years' War. In the series, besides being piloted by the protagonist Chirico Cuvie, its high versatility led to various derivative specifications being adapted for use across different units. The standard specification used by the Melquian regular army features a purple color scheme, and while it is a standard ST type, it is typically deployed by experienced units.
The "TOYRISE Scopedog Melquian Army Specification" is crafted in a 1/48 scale, standing approximately 8.5 cm tall. The entire unit is painted in purple and gray to faithfully reproduce the Melquian Army's specifications, meticulously recreating the unit's distinctive triple rotating lens, heavily riveted thick armor, and various armaments.
Thanks to new mechanisms developed by TAKARA TOMY, this compact size achieves both excellent articulation and intricate features. Beyond basic posing of the head and limbs with handheld weapons, it also reproduces the opening and closing mechanisms of the cockpit and various maintenance hatches, the rotation and horizontal movement of the triple lens, the extendable "Armor Magnum" (or "Armor Fist"), and the parked state with the lower body folded. The deployed cockpit not only features internal detailing but can also accommodate a soldier figure of the same scale.
Armaments include a parachute backpack for airborne troops, a heavy machine gun, the large-caliber pistol "Pentatrooper," and the anti-battleship energy weapon "Log Gun," all of which can be equipped on various parts of the Scopedog.
