The recent wildfires devastating California have destroyed countless homes, and not even Hollywood stars in their upscale communities have been spared. Their lavish mansions have been reduced to ashes, and Mel Gibson is among the victims, with his Malibu home completely incinerated by the blaze.
In a recent interview with NewsNation, Gibson recalled the moment he discovered his home was gone. "I was doing an interview, and I was getting a little antsy because I knew my neighbor's house was on fire," he said. "I was like, 'Wow, I wonder if my place is okay.' And when I got home, it was confirmed. It wasn't there anymore. I said to myself, 'Well, at least I don't have to worry about that pesky plumbing anymore.'"

Despite the devastating loss, Gibson maintained his characteristic dark humor. "I've never seen anything burn so clean," he described. "Clean enough to put in an urn. The whole area was just consumed. I've never seen anything so completely incinerated." Gibson also joked, "I have been liberated from the burden of material possessions because they're all dust now."
During a recent interview with renowned podcaster Joe Rogan, Gibson also slammed current California Governor Gavin Newsom, accusing him of failing to implement promised wildfire prevention measures. "Back in 2019, I remember Newsom saying, 'I'm going to take care of the forests, I'm going to maintain them,' or something to that effect, and he did nothing," Gibson stated. He then quipped, "I think all the tax money we pay probably went to Gavin's hair gel."
