Noted film scooper Daniel Richtman exclusively reported last month that Disney is developing a slate of films centered on classic fairy tale villains. These projects are intended to promote the upcoming Villains Land theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Among them is a live-action spin-off for Mother Gothel from "Tangled." Today, Richtman further reported on Disney's current top choice for the role.

Richtman revealed that veteran comedic actress Kathryn Hahn, whose popularity has soared recently for her role as Agatha Harkness in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is Disney's current pick to portray Mother Gothel. Last month, it was also reported that the live-action "Tangled" film was in talks with "The Greatest Showman" director Michael Gracey to helm the project. If both films are set within the same universe and Hahn signs on, she could potentially appear in both productions.
