GASHAPON "Tom and Jerry Light Mascot 2" Gashapon, the Popular Second Series of Luminous, Deformed Tom and Jerry is Here!

Bandai's GASHAPON division will release a product based on the classic cartoon "Tom and Jerry" – the "Tom and Jerry Light Mascot 2" gashapon. Each capsule will have a suggested retail price of 500 JPY and is scheduled for release in the third week of January 2024!

"Tom and Jerry," created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940 and produced and distributed by MGM, is a classic animated series. During its initial run from 1940 to 1958, it won 7 Academy Awards for Best Short Subject. After its revival in 1961, its popularity even surpassed the "Looney Tunes" cartoon series, becoming a globally beloved animated show. The exaggerated cartoon expressions and the timeless "love-hate" dynamic between Tom and Jerry have ensured that, even after more than 80 years since its debut, its popularity continues to grow!

Following the popular release of the four designs in the first series last April, this "Tom and Jerry Light Mascot 2" once again utilizes the exaggerated deformation techniques often seen in the show to create luminous models of Tom and Jerry. This collection includes four styles: Vase-shaped Tom, Widened Jerry, Spherical Tuffy, and a blue title logo contrasting the first generation. Each model features a light-up function, bringing more of the characters' rich and amusing deformed appearances to life with illuminating effects!
