Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, known for its assembly model kits based on Japan's "Brave Series" anime, has announced the latest product from "The Brave of Gold Goldran": the "Great Goldran Gold Plated Ver.", slated for release in May 2025. This product will be exclusively sold through official Kotobukiya channels, including the KOTOBUKIYA SHOP.
In the series, the protagonist Gold Swordsman Doran is a well-mannered Brave Robot capable of transforming into a car. He can summon the Goldran Dragon and perform "Gold Fusion" with it to become the larger Goldran, wielding the Japanese sword weapon "Super Dragon Fang Sword" to execute his finishing move, "One-Hit Severing Slash." Later, after new allies "Gold Ninja Shadow" and "Gold General Leon" awaken, he can further combine with them to form his strongest form, Great Goldran.
The "Great Goldran Gold Plated Ver." bundles the previously released "Sky Goldran" and "Ultimate Power-Up Parts" (Doran's main body is not included). This allows for recreating three forms: Goldran, Sky Goldran, and Great Goldran. Additionally, it includes replacement parts to recreate the imposter Brave Robot "Goldran Sword," which boasts 22% higher abilities than the genuine article in the show.
Unlike the standard version's plastic molding color, this product features luxurious gold plating on all armor parts, excluding movable joints and connection points, faithfully recreating the dazzling brilliance seen in the series. The chest gem part has also been changed to transparent red, expressing the texture of the Power Stone.
By adopting a movable frame structure after removing the combination mechanism, the model not only faithfully reproduces the cool proportions and design from the setting art and animation but also boasts extremely flexible articulation. This allows for recreating dynamic poses for special moves like "One-Hit Severing Slash," "Swift Wind Lightning Slash," and "Golden Arrow: Ultimate Divine Shot" with weapons such as the Super Dragon Fang Sword and Ultimate Bow!
