Just days after revealing its first behind-the-scenes look, the live-action film adaptation of Sony Interactive Entertainment's acclaimed horror video game "Until Dawn" has now dropped its highly anticipated debut trailer. Directed by "Shazam!" franchise helmer David F. Sandberg and penned by "Annabelle" series screenwriter Gary Dauberman, the film is an original story set directly within the game's universe, rather than a direct remake.

The ensemble cast features rising stars Ella Rubin, Maia Mitchell, Odessa A'zion, Willem van der Vegt, Belmont Cameli, and Michael Cimino. Swedish actor Peter Stormare, who portrayed Dr. Hill in the original game, reprises his role in the film (pictured below).

The official synopsis reads: One year after her sister Melanie's mysterious disappearance, Clover and her friends venture into the remote valley where she vanished, seeking answers. While exploring an abandoned tourist center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and are brutally murdered one by one. But upon waking, they discover they are back on the same night. Trapped in the valley, they are forced to relive the nightmare repeatedly—each time with the killer's methods differing and becoming more terrifying than the last. As hope dwindles, the group quickly realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and their only way to survive is to hold on until dawn.
"Until Dawn" is co-written by Dauberman and Blair Butler, screenwriter of "The Invitation." The film is slated for release on April 25.
