Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO, following their "Scarecrow" release, has once again unveiled a new product based on the classic series Batman: The Animated Series—the Clayface 1/6 scale collectible figure. Both a limited edition and a regular edition will be available, with the limited edition globally restricted to 1,500 units. With a suggested retail price of US$280 and US$260 respectively, pre-orders will open on January 21st at noon CT on the official MONDO Shop website, with an estimated shipping date of July 2025!
Clayface first appeared in the animated series in Season 1, Episode 20, "Feat of Clay: Part 1." Popular actor Matt Hagen, to conceal the truth of his disfigurement after a car accident, became addicted to a chemical formula developed by Roland Daggett's laboratory that could alter facial features and maintain his perfect appearance. In exchange, he had to use the substance's properties to impersonate others and do Daggett's bidding. After an altercation with Daggett's henchmen, Matt was forcibly injected with an overdose of the chemical, transforming his entire body into mud and turning him into the villain Clayface, capable of changing his form at will.
This Clayface 1/6 scale collectible figure stands at an impressive 13.5 inches tall, making it the tallest figure in the series to date, faithfully capturing Clayface's imposing physique from the show. The sculpt accurately recreates the soft, malleable appearance of his mud-composed body. The arms feature a semi-seamless joint design with an internal articulated and geared skeleton, balancing both articulation and Clayface's unique aesthetic. The figure is painted with the series' signature flat colors and outlines, perfectly capturing the cel-animated flat style of the show! Accessories include two interchangeable heads, two sets of interchangeable hands, and mud-formed weapons such as a flail, mud chunks, and an axe, as well as the chemical canister developed by Daggett—the very cause of his transformation into Clayface!
Furthermore, the limited edition also includes an additional set of interchangeable hands, interchangeable hands transformed into claws and a blade, a mud splash accessory that can accommodate a head sculpt, a head sculpt depicting his head struck by Batman's grappling gun, an interchangeable head sculpt mimicking Batman's appearance when Clayface first saw him in "Feat of Clay: Part 2," and an accessory depicting Batman trapped in his chest. These can be paired with the previously released Batman figure to recreate their intense battle scenes!
