"Sonic the Hedgehog 3," released late last year, has grossed over $420 million globally to date, making it the highest-earning film in the franchise. Paramount Pictures announced "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" for a Spring 2027 release on the same day "Sonic 3" premiered. While an exact date wasn't initially provided, the studio has now officially set March 19, 2027, as the release date. The director, writer, and cast have not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, the remake of "The Toxic Avenger," which unveiled its teaser trailer and first-look images two years ago, has finally confirmed its theatrical release for this year.
The film is written and directed by Macon Blair, known for "I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore." The cast features Jane Levy, Kevin Bacon, Taylour Paige, Peter Dinklage, and Jacob Tremblay. Blair also appears in the film, while Elijah Wood, who previously collaborated with Blair on "I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore," takes on the villain role.
Dinklage stars in the new "Toxic Avenger" as Winston Gooze, a chemical plant janitor. After a horrific factory accident mutates his body, Winston is ostracized by society but gains immense superhuman strength. He decides to use his newfound powers to fight injustice, take on the corrupt factory CEO, and mend his relationship with his son.
