THE GUNDAM BASE, Japan's official Gunpla flagship store for "Mobile Suit Gundam," has announced that the event-exclusive product "MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-V [Clear Color]" from "Gundam Sentinel" will be available for purchase starting February 8, 2025.
The ORX-013 Gundam Mk-V is a mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces during the Titans era, intended to mass-produce and miniaturize the "Psycho Gundam." Although named Gundam, its internal structure is completely different from existing Gundam mobile suits like the RX-78. It is equipped with a "Quasi-Psycommu System" that even regular pilots can operate, allowing for all-range attacks previously only achievable by Newtype pilots when combined with its "Incoms." In the "Gundam Sentinel" story, in U.C.0088, a rebellion by the fleet assigned to this unit led to the Gundam Mk-V falling into the hands of the New Decides, who inherited the Titans' ideology. It became the personal mobile suit of their leader, "Brave Cod," and its color scheme was changed to dark blue.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-V [Clear Color]" is based on the regular version released as a Premium Bandai exclusive in 2021. The characteristic blue armor and red abdomen of the entire unit have been changed to clear material, giving it a highly futuristic, crystal-like appearance. Details printed on the inner surfaces of the parts and the internal movable frame are completely visible, making it more convenient for special customization techniques such as lighting or glow-in-the-dark paint, presenting a style distinct from regular Gunpla.
Other specifications remain the same as the regular version. The kit features precise part separation and color molding, with all white sections of the mobile suit being separate parts. New joint parts also allow this larger-than-average MS to strike more dynamic poses. Notably, the connection parts for the front skirt armor adopt a new structure, reducing interference with thigh articulation.
Weaponry includes a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, and Incoms. The shield recreates its thruster function when connected to the backpack. The Incoms can be stored in the backpack or connected with a metal core wire to replicate their firing state. The beam sabers on the backpack can rotate to the sides of the chest to recreate the beam cannon state, and the missile pods on both shoulders can open their hatches to reveal the internal warhead structure.
