Christopher Landon, the director behind the "Happy Death Day" franchise, has two new projects hitting screens this year. One is the upcoming film "Heart Eyes", and the other is "Drop," which recently released its first trailer.
"Drop" is directed by Landon, with the screenplay penned by Jillian Jacobs and Christopher Roach, the writing duo known for "Fantasy Island." The cast features Brandon Sklenar, who has gained recognition for his roles in "It Ends with Us" and the series "1923," alongside Meghann Fahy, who rose to prominence with her performance in the second season of HBO's "The White Lotus."

The official synopsis describes Valerie, a widowed single mother embarking on her first date in years. Arriving at a high-end restaurant, she's delighted to find her date, Henry, even more charming and handsome than expected. However, a series of anonymous messages begin to flood her phone, gradually turning her initial excitement into terror. The spark between them quickly fades.
She then receives instructions not to tell anyone and to follow the anonymous messages' commands, or a mysterious hooded figure, visible through her home security camera on her phone, will kill her young son and her sister, who is babysitting him. Valerie must comply with every instruction, or everyone she loves will die. The final command from her unseen tormentor? Kill Henry. "Drop" premiered at SXSW on March 9, 2025, and was released in the United States by Universal Pictures on April 11, 2025.
