CHIBIMARU Godzilla "Mecha King Ghidorah 70th Anniversary Edition" Q-Version Sculpt Features Newly Recreated Mechanical Parts!

Released by Japanese model manufacturer FUJIMI, the assembly model series "CHIBIMARU Godzilla", which features Toho monsters from the "Godzilla" series in a Q-version deformed proportion, has announced its latest product, "Mecha King Ghidorah 70th Anniversary Edition", scheduled for release in April 2025.

In the 1991 film "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah", future humans from the 23rd century, aiming to cripple Japan's national power, traveled back to 1954 to prevent Godzilla's birth. Simultaneously, they sent three artificial bio-weapons, "Dorats", to the Marshall Islands, where nuclear tests were about to take place. These creatures absorbed radiation and transformed into the ferocious giant beast "King Ghidorah", with the intention of controlling it to attack Japan during the 1990s Japanese bubble economy.

However, the future humans did not alter the outcome of Godzilla's birth; in fact, he became even more powerful than before. King Ghidorah was severely wounded and sank into the Sea of Okhotsk. To prevent Godzilla from continuing to wreak havoc in Japan throughout the 20th century, the future human Emmy returned to the 23rd century first. Using contemporary technology, she salvaged King Ghidorah, replacing its lost wings, heads, and other parts with mechanical components, and creating a cockpit that humans could control. Finally, Emmy piloted Mecha King Ghidorah back to the 20th century, temporarily restraining Godzilla's actions, and both sank into the sea.

The "CHIBIMARU Mecha King Ghidorah 70th Anniversary Edition" kit is a modification of the previously released King Ghidorah. It consists of approximately 179 parts molded in five colors—gold, silver, white, red, and clear green—along with color-correcting stickers. Once assembled, it stands approximately 16 cm tall.

The overall design features a low-proportioned Q-version style, meticulously reproducing Ghidorah's scales. The mechanical parts, crafted with future technology, are made with numerous new components, faithfully recreating details such as the central head's beam cannon and the conduits connecting the three heads.

Furthermore, Mecha King Ghidorah features articulated joints in multiple areas, including its heads, body, wings, legs, and tails. The multi-stage movable axes allow for posing of the three heads and two tails, or spreading its wings to recreate a flying posture.
