Currently in production, "Scream 7" today announced the unexpected return of two former cast members: Scott Foley (above left), who played Sidney's half-brother Roman in "Scream 3", and Matthew Lillard (above right), who portrayed Stu in the original "Scream". Both actors famously played Ghostface killers in their respective installments.

Given that both Roman Bridger and Stu Macher were unmasked and widely presumed dead, their comeback is sure to surprise fans. The filmmakers have not yet explained the form their appearances will take, though possibilities include flashback cameos or a "mind demon" role, similar to Skeet Ulrich's return as Billy Loomis in 2022's "Scream". Industry insider Daniel Richtman also reported on his Patreon that he had heard news of Ulrich's potential return for "Scream 7".

The cast of "Scream 7" also features new faces including Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Joel McHale as Sidney's husband Mark Evans, and Isabel May as Sidney's daughter Tatum. Returning veterans include Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, both from the previous two films, alongside Courteney Cox, who has appeared in every installment as Gale Weathers. The film is slated for a North American release on February 27, 2026.

"Scream 7" is directed by franchise veteran Kevin Williamson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Guy Busick. James Vanderbilt is credited with the story for this installment.
