"Marvel's Spider-Man 2," the highly anticipated third installment in the "Marvel's Spider-Man" series, which originally launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in October 2023, officially arrived on Steam for PC on January 31, 2025. While PC gamers eagerly awaited the port, the Nixxes-developed version has seemingly fallen short of expectations, landing with "mixed" reviews immediately after its release.

As of now, "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" holds only a 54% positive rating on Steam, indicating that nearly half of players are dissatisfied with the game's performance on PC. Even those with high-end setups, including RTX 4090 graphics cards and the latest Nvidia drivers, have reported frequent game crashes—some experiencing freezes and crashes as often as every five minutes, leading frustrated players to demand refunds.
Beyond constant crashes, other players have reported issues such as excessively long loading times, missing object textures, non-functional DLSS and ray tracing features, and significant performance degradation, including stuttering and frame drops, during gameplay. The state of the "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" PC port appears to be plagued with numerous problems.

In response to the issues, port developer Nixxes has stated that solutions are available on their support website. However, these fixes have not yet provided a noticeable improvement for many players. Consequently, some gamers have indicated they will hold off on purchasing the game until the development team addresses and rectifies these performance concerns.
