PLEX Co., Ltd. of Japan, in collaboration with X-PLUS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest addition to their "Toho Large Monsters" soft vinyl figure series, based on monsters from Toho films. The new product, "Godzilla (2024) EVOLVED Ver.", from the movie "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", is scheduled for release in May 2025. This item will be available in both a standard edition and a limited edition sold exclusively through official designated channels.
In "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", Godzilla, sensing the threat posed by the tyrannical red-haired ape "Scar King", begins to travel the world to enhance his power. Along the way, he first heads to a French nuclear power plant to absorb radiation, and later ventures to the Arctic Sea to slay the titan "Tiamat" and occupy its lair to absorb immense solar wind energy. After waking from his slumber, Godzilla not only gains increased muscle density, becoming exceptionally muscular, but the energy within him also radiates a magenta hue, reminiscent of gamma rays, significantly boosting his combat capabilities.
The "Toho Large Monsters Godzilla (2024) EVOLVED Ver." captures Godzilla's significantly enhanced form at an impressive height of approximately 30 cm. Its muscular physique is showcased through a chest-puffed, arm-outstretched menacing pose, with the intricate, irregular rough skin textures meticulously sculpted across its entire body.
The newly grown fins on its dorsal plates, elbows, and tail tip are all painted with a gradient magenta color over transparent parts, creating a glowing effect. This, combined with its fierce head sculpt, enhances its aggressive appearance.
Furthermore, the limited edition, available through retailers such as "Shonen RIC" and "GODZILLA STORE", includes an exclusive bonus "Roaring Head Part". By swapping this part, collectors can recreate Godzilla's magnificent head-raised roaring pose.
